What is Different About the NFL Hall of Fame Enshrinement?

The NFL Hall of Fame, also called the Hall of Fame Game, is an annually-celebrated event in which the Super Bowl champion and former players are inducted into the Hall of Fame. Most current players are also eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame. Former players are occasionally eligible for enshrinement into the Hall of Fame, as well. However, before a player can be chosen for induction into the Hall of Fame, he or she must first meet eligibility requirements.

To become eligible for the Hall of Fame, players need to be eligible for election to the Hall of Fame team, the Ring of Fame team and the Hall of Fame committee. As with other enshrinement ceremonies, the candidate must first be chosen by the voters who elect the players for the Hall of Fame. Then, they must receive a majority of votes from the voters within the Hall of Fame group. The player must also meet minimum eligibility requirements set forth by the Hall of Fame, including playing in the NFL for at least ten years. Some of these requirements are higher for different players.

After a player has been chosen for eligibility, he or she will be evaluated to determine whether or not he or she meets the standards for the Hall of Fame. For example, a defensive player must have at least five seasons in which he starts at the defensive tackle position and at least two years in which he is an integral part of the secondary. He or she must have been selected by the voters within the Hall of Fame voting process for at least one year. Prior to the 2021 season, the players will undergo interviews. At the interview, questions about off-the-field off-season training will be answered. Players will also be asked about their career statistics and all other statistics that pertain to their career.

Each year, players who receive five votes in the Hall of Fame will be eligible to join the Hall of Fame team. However, there will only be one team chosen for the Hall of Fame each year. This will rotate between the three teams that participate in the NFL. Each team will have one representative (usually one offensive and one defensive player) who will serve as the player committee chair. The other players on the team will consist of coaches, selectors and other personnel people.

Prior to the Hall of Fame Game, the festivities will kick off with the Super Bowl. On this day, Super Bowl MVP will be announced and the names of the official Hall of Fame will be announced. In addition, the Super Bowl will crown its winner. Prior to the Hall of Fame Game, the NFL will hold its annual Super Bowl Polls.

Other activities that will take place before the Hall of Fame Game include a preseason game, a college or professional developmental camp and the annual combine. There are also several charity events that will take place prior to the Hall of Fame Game. For example, the Locker Room Talk will feature various guests from the locker room who give their thoughts on the recent changes in the NFL and talk about how the new CBA helped to shape the league. It will be followed by the annual Walter Camp Tour and the Hall of Fame Ceremony, which crowns the newest inductee to the Hall of Fame team.
