When it comes to NFL yesterday, it’s hard to look past the Dallas Cowboys. Their defense had a huge game against the Washington Football Team, and they overcame a 16-point deficit in the first half to pull out a 22-7 win. However, the offense wasn’t nearly as dominant.
The San Francisco 49ers also had a stellar performance against the Los Angeles Rams, winning 27-24 in overtime. After losing the first half, they rallied in the second half and jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the third quarter. But, the team couldn’t get it done offensively in the first half, and the comeback was short-lived.
The New York Jets defeated the Miami Dolphins 20-13, but it was Brett Favre who had a big game. He threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. His touchdown passes went for 39 yards to David Patten, and he threw for 84 yards to Devery Henderson.

It was an interesting day for the Miami Dolphins, who had a chance to tie or even win the game, but their chances went downhill. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts 26-11 in TIAA Bank Field, locking up the number one overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. In the fourth quarter, they led, but they surrendered a big run to Isiah Pacheco.
A late fumble by Jamal Agnew put the Seattle Seahawks in position to score on a pass. Then, they were penalized for an ineligible man downfield. So, the Seahawks had to settle for a field goal after their failed fourth-down attempt in the end zone with nine minutes to go.
The Green Bay Packers dominated the Minnesota Vikings in the final week of the season, and they locked up the top seed in the NFC. But the Vikings’ chances of winning the division are over, and they fell to 2-13.
The Atlanta Falcons were down, too, after a tough loss to the New England Patriots. They had a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but it was short-lived. On the following drive, the Falcons were intercepted twice. One of those interceptions, by Darrelle Revis, came in the end zone with five seconds to go.
Lastly, the New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-20, but the Saints will not make the playoffs this year. For the first time in a long time, the Cincinnati Bengals are out of the playoffs, too.
It was a busy day in the NFL, and it’s too bad for the Browns. They are going to finish with a 9-8 record, and they’ll be out of the playoffs in the final week of the regular season.
