Football Night in America is an NBC television show that airs Sunday evenings. In 2006, the show was renamed to be more popular, and its broadcast location was moved from the original Studio 8G to Studio 8H in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where Saturday Night Live airs. This was also the first year that the show aired after Saturday Night Live and before Game 4 of the 2007 World Series. While the show remains a popular weekly event, it has had its share of controversy.

NBC introduced a new halftime show in 2009 called “Worst Person in the NFL,” which is modeled after the popular “Worst Person in the World” segment on MSNBC. Olbermann’s first “honoree” was himself, for advocating a light prison sentence for NFL quarterback Michael Vick after he pleaded guilty to dogfighting charges. He also attacked New York Jets fans for cheering for Chad Pennington after he hurt his ankle during a game.

NBC decided to change its opening song in 2017. In 2018 they went with a new song, “Sunday Night Football” by Oh the Larceny. It features the NFL players as well as announcers. The opening also features the NFL players as part of the new theme song. In the new theme song, NBC also brought back the impromptu commercial from Visit California. The song also featured clips of famous football movies, past Super Bowls, and clips of previous Super Bowl games. In addition to the intro, Carrie Underwood and Halle Berry made an appearance.

In 2016, the name Football Night in America was used for pre-game shows during NBC’s Thursday Night Football games. The pre-game show aired a half-hour preview of the first game. In addition to that, the pre-game show also featured a special halftime show for the night game. A similar pre-game show, “Diet Pepsi Bridge Show,” aired before the night game.

The show also featured a number of other guests, including Hill and Tony Dungy. In addition to the studio hosts, the show also features commentators from the NFL. During Sunday night football, all three commentators were back in place from the previous year, with the exception of Keith Olbermann, who left MSNBC for Al Jazeera America. The December 26 edition of Sunday Night Football aired for 90 minutes and Costas hosting the game from Lincoln Financial Field. A blizzard postponed the Minnesota Vikings game, and Faith Hill and Brian Urlacher did not make their typical pre-game show.

In addition to the NFL game, the game aired opposite the World Series in the spring of 2017. In addition, the Packers played the New York Mets in November. The Packers entered the game undefeated at 6-0, but they lost to the eventual World Series champion Nationals. The game was a rematch of the previous season’s Thanksgiving game, which was shown as part of the SNF package on NBC.
