However, the Chiefs struggled in 1998 and finished 9-7. The team blamed head coach Marty Schottenheimer for its failures in the playoffs and his conservative style of coaching (“Martyball”), and he resigned following the season.

The current Chiefs have a good chance to make the Super Bowl this year, but they must beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game to get there. The game is scheduled for January 20, 2018. The Chiefs currently have the second-best record in the league and can clinch the top seed by winning their next two games. WDAF-FM (106.5) is the flagship radio station for the Chiefs, with affiliates in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. The station broadcasts all Chiefs home and road games on the radio, and has a nationwide streaming audience through mobile phones, tablets and computers. The Chiefs also have their own television channel, Fox Sports Kansas City. The Chiefs are also part of the CBS Sports Network, which carries most of their non-primetime games.
